ERSKINE SOLAR INSTALLATION
ERSKINE SOLAR INSTALLATION

Prior to installation, we worked with structural engineers to ensure that certain characteristics of the fuel station canopy were taken into consideration; specific wind loading and structural loading parameters were taken into consideration. Building permits were obtained using information provided by us throughout the solar system design, and also the wind load design process.

Western Power applications were made based on the information determined during the site visit.

After the system design was completed, and Western Power approval was given to connect to the grid, the installation phase began.

The installation phase started with us dropping materials to the site using our truck and Hiab crane, allowing us to deliver the solar modules just prior to their installation.

The system required the installation of 140 solar modules and two Fronius 15kW inverters spread over both the roof and canopy structures on the site, with multiple DC strings being pulled through conduits to the canopy location.
Hot Work and Working at Heights permits were in place, with staff using a static line and adjustable lanyards.

Lovegrove Electrical completed the installation over a 5-day period and during standard business hours, including the power shutdown for electrical switchboard works. We completed the installation without interference to the busy site, and with minimal impact to both clientele and service station operations.

This site was one of around 50 sites for which we were awarded the contract for solar power systems across the Caltex network in Western Australia.
